So my first entry will be my recent luck.  So I got my bonus check yesterday and decided to try my luck at my favorite poker location:  The Golden Nugget.  I arrived and found myself seated with a couple from California, two native Las Vegas, and a retired doctor from Canada.  The game started out slow but I managed to play my hands right (I was getting good hands to play with, that is) and I ended up leaving with $900 dollars in winnings.  I felt so good that afterwards I decided to visit the Glitter Gulch and hand over to those lovely ladies over there half my winnings, but hey, its pay day!
After feeling good after winning at poker and getting a couple of lap dances from some lovely ladies, I decided to go home, change, and go to the gym.  Hey, it's a weekday.  So the next day after work I say, hey, I did good yesterday.  Let's see if I can continue this luck.  Well, this time around I reserved a seat for an evening game on a Thursday:  Big mistake!  A - no couples here, B - no lonely retired people either, and C - Only 1 was a native Las Vegan.  I find myself reserved at a table with two Chinese persons, one younger person from Texas here on business, and two medium aged salespersons from California selling industrial water heaters.  I say, so what?  I have been playing this game for years, in this town, and I am not going to be scared out of this table by anybody.  So the game starts out okay except for the fact that I keep getting stuck with shitty cards.  And what happens when I have a straight with high card of 9?  I get beat out by a flush.  Needless to say I lost $1,000 dollars and I did not win a hand the entire session.  Yeah, I got my ass kicked.  I always knew you had to know when to fold them, and when to hold them.  Well, I kept holding them and it burned me.  Feeling pissed off and wanting my money back, I head over to the Fremont Casino, my favorite spot to play Blackjack, and launch my method in the hopes of quickly winning $800 dollars to continue playing poker.  The next game started in a few hours.  Having a 2 to 1 win ration in Blackjack using my betting system, I figured I would even have enough time to grab a bite to eat.
Needless to say, I find myself with my max bet of $450 on the table holding an Ace card with a 4 and the dealer is showing a 4.  What does Basic Blackjack strategy dictate to do?  You double down, and that is exactly what I did.  Hey, when it comes to Blackjack you don't think, you just do or you find yourself broke.  Well, sadly I was up $300 dollars when my next card put me at 18 and the dealer edges out a 21.  Yeah, another $1000 lost.  I felt that I had to come to this blog and rant about the pains of being a gambler in Las Vegas.  But you win some and you lose some.  Next pay check you bet your ass I will be back here winning my money back, and then some.
